Daily Bostonian is an independent publication covering Boston and the communities around it — City Hall and the State House, the housing and transit decisions that shape daily life, the universities and teaching hospitals that drive the regional economy, and the culture and teams the city organises its year around.
What we cover
- City and state: Boston City Council, the mayor's office, the State House on Beacon Hill, and the agencies residents actually deal with
- Housing and business: development, rents, the biotech and health care employers, and the money moving through the region
- Research and universities: the institutions across Boston and Cambridge, and what their work means beyond the campus gates
- Culture and sport: music, museums, food, and the teams that set the mood of a Boston week
How we work
We publish original reporting under named bylines with publication dates. Every article carries structured data identifying its author and date, so readers and search engines can see who wrote a piece and when.
Boston is a small city surrounded by places that are not Boston. We try to be precise about that: Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline and Quincy are their own cities with their own governments, and a story about one of them is not a story about Boston City Hall.
Corrections
We correct errors of fact promptly and note the correction on the article. If you have found one, write to us.
